Jerry Foley, October 6, 2023
I thought I'd share this last moment with Jerry Foley, Director of Dave's Late Show for twenty years, from 1995 to its last show in 2015. He passed away last weekend.
This was after Late Show's tribute to Rupert Jee that had taken place in the lobby of the Ed Sullivan Theater on October 6, 2023. We were underneath the marquee when I spotted Jerry chatting with Mike McIntee, Bill DeLace, and Steve Young.
A short clip to say hail and farewell, Jerry.

Ockeghem Choir of San Francisco, 1978: Missa Au Travail Suis

Our choir presented 15th-Century Flemish composer Johannes Ockeghem's M. Au Travail Suis at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Berkeley on April 21, 1978, the same evening as his Requiem.* That night was the group's final public performance, and it was our best. Yes, there were imperfections a vocal section not blending as tightly here, a breath not executed cleanly there, but minor in the overall....

It was the Winter of 1972, my third year at Antioch College. My academic interests had been in radio production and music, but I hadn't yet declared a major. I was losing focus with the radio production, so I explored the music angle by enrolling in a Harmony class and singing in the school's chorus. Its music director was John Richard Ronsheim (1927-1997), an extraordinary professor whose biog...
Buffalo Springfield Acetate: "Down to the Wire"

A few years ago I wrote a blog essay explaining how I had acquired a reel-to-reel dub of two Buffalo Springfield acetates in 1971. They had come from then-WBCN legend Charles Laquidera. He had prepared the tape for me at the station's top recording speed, 15 ips. I had asked for the first acetate, the extended, 9 1/2-minute "Bluebird," which I learned years later was the best-quality version th...

Norma book is a classic as all get out, he says that actually don fried him because he stopped telling OJ jokes. And the old man used to tell them to OJ while golfing. And since norm stopped he couldn’t zing him anymore. And norm refused to make fun of a man found innocent in the court of law and was fried. That diamond is having a good chuckle now.

Conan must’ve been upset about this at the time. He’s constantly asked who his favorite guests of all time were and they’re usually a few names amongst the same crop but the first one he nearly always says is Norm. And he couldn’t go and have Norm on the show again being on NBC himself. Then he went on to get shafted by NBC himself a decade later (where Letterman had his back in a similar way in which he had Norm’s), and of course Letterman got forced out in 1992. Fk NBC lol

Dave wasn’t “forced out” at NBC. Leno was given the Tonight Show, so Dave shopped elsewhere. NBC would have kept Dave following Leno, but to Dave that was unacceptable.

@@dongiller I mean yeah nobody was "forced out" technically. Like Norm said they wanted him to perform in sketches, and they wanted Conan to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 and keep Jay around. They both understandably found this unacceptable. Cool of you to respond to a comment on another note you're a pretty awesome guy in the sphere of Letterman fandom obviously.

Norm had his share of jokes that would not be well-received today from a political correctness standpoint, but at the end of the day that man did not have a single drop of hate towards anybody in his heart. One of the all-time great comedians, gone way too soon at 61. I wish he were still here I’d get so much comic relief hearing what he’d say these days if he were still with us.

Along with Whitney Houston, Linda Ronstadt was the greatest female vocalist of my lifetime. Flat out, Linda owned the '70s. She had Don Henley and Glen Frey in her backing band and gave them support when they wanted to split off and form The Eagles. Linda did pop in the '70s but later switched it up and had great success in other musical genres. For the uninitiated... ua-cam.com/video/Kp9G0zkorio/v-deo.html

What i can get is very Patrick Bateman is tom is very informative and is not coming across as creative or witty for a interview. He does not say much about any other emotions besides excitement or adrenaline. Perhaps he was nervous, or sealing with some emotion but the interview did go mostly ask and answer. But I don’t see a clear psycho. I guess I don’t have that level of perception to tell when someone is coming off crazy or not.

The Jewish bible became the first forged one in 321 A.D., when Constantine of Rome copied it and replaced the sacred name of the Creator, who called Himself I Am in Exodus 3:14, Lord and God; the Babylonian demon, Lord Ba’al the sun god in it. He changed the Massiah’s name: I Am Salvation The Anointed, to Iesus: The Greek demon lightning god we call Zoos and the Sacred Breath to the Holy Ghost to enrage the Creator, I Am, so He would curse every Jew and new Catholic convert in his new imitation Vatican church he made, when he replaced the Vatican’s eternal dedication to making blood sacrifices of innocent children, to worship lord Ba’al the Babylonian sun god, in the Babylonian structure, he renamed his Catholic church, he dedicated to bring a curse upon all Jews and new Catholic converts who joined it. Prior to that, Constantine called for the Roman guard and ordered them to kill all the Jewish evangelists who were so successfully converting Roman citizens in their own streets. After a few died, the government ordered the Roman Guard to stop their attacks, so he, in frustration, requested ordered documentation on the history of the Jews, resulting in historical documentation regarding the terminal curses of Judah and Israel respectively, by their own Deity, for verbally replacing His new sacred name: I Am in Exodus 3:14, with the two Babylonian terms, Lord and God, in their public dissertations and prayer. That happened after bribed Jewish priests, in 612 B.C. told Israel and Judah to start praying to Lord and God. The result was the eternal curse, of Judah and Israel in 605 B.C. Israel was divorced and renamed Lo Ammi: Without I Am and Judah was renamed Lo Ruhamma: Without The Promise! In 321 A.D., the Roman Constantine, a son of a Roman senator, assumed if their Creator cursed them once for mockery of His sacred names, He would do it again in 321 A.D. for repeating the mockery, but he knew nothing about the age called the Law Of Sin And Death, when Israel was cursed and that called Grace, by providing the Crucifixion. Constantine was, however surprised no one was ever visibly cursed by his fake Vatican Catholic church, for using the Babylonian names, of the sun god; Lord and God in their prayers and dialogue, or practicing Babylonian ceremonies like Easter, Christmas and Sunday Sabbaths. When the so-called Protestants eventually abandoned what became a successful Catholic Vatican business, their most egregious error may have been to bring intact, a Vatican forgery bible, with demon gods and occult errors recorded. Easter is Ishtar, the Babylonian Queen marked by colored eggs (Fertility Right) and Christmas is taken from a 300 B.C. Greek demon anointing ceremony called the Christus and Sunday Sabbaths are celebrations of the Babylonian, fifteen-foot-tall son of Ishtar, who became her Lord Ba’al The Sun God at his death, at the hand of Cush, Noah’s relative. Grace alone validates our relationships with I Am through I Am Salvation The Anointed and The Sacred Breath, but the symbol of the cross is exclusively that of a murder weapon; not a register of mercy any more than is that of a bull whip. Spires and steeples are Babylonian symbols of a demon’s erection. James L. Rederburg
